If you care about the welfare of animals and are looking for a chance to contribute to their well-being, this opportunity is for you!
Tulare County Animal Services (TCAS) recently received funding to build a brand-new spay and neuter clinic next to its shelter facilities in Visalia, especially to reach those animals whose owners might not have the funds to provide medical care for their pets.
With the new clinic set to open in the fall of 2021, TCAS would like to invite the community to participate in raising funds to subsidize the spay/neutering treatments, as well as other, minor medical care for these animals in need.
There are many rural communities throughout the county that have no access to veterinary services, some with no veterinary clinics within an hour or more of their homes. The need for low-cost veterinary services, including spay and neuter, cannot be overstated. In these communities, dogs and cats run loose and create more homeless dogs and cats. This leads to humans being bitten and harassed by stray dogs and animals needlessly suffering in the streets from illness or injury.
By providing accessible and affordable spay and neuter services, TCAS can reduce the population of unwanted animals in these areas and assist families who love their pets but do not have the means to provide needed health care.
TCAS has a proven track record of providing essential services to our furry friends, including:
Animal Services' vision is to be a transparent animal care organization administering quality services to the community; to promote the humane treatment of animals through community partnerships, outreach, and education; to place animals in loving homes; and to decrease the euthanasia of sheltered animals.
If you’d like to participate in protecting and serving animals in Tulare County, please consider donating to the new spay/neuter clinic via Friends of Tulare County (FTC), a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to promoting the safety, health, and well-being of all residents of Tulare County. FTC steps in to help fill the gaps for County programs when federal, state, and local funding runs out.
