The annual Stockings for Seniors drive requests donations of warm clothing articles and/or the sharing of one’s personal time with the local senior citizens to help keep them warm, uplift their spirits, and improve mental wellness as they anticipate the holiday celebrations. To the homebound seniors who often do not have friends or family visiting them during the holidays, the Stockings for Seniors drive can have a huge impact.
CSET Senior Services, Tulare County Adult Protective Services, and Public Guardian partner with the Kings/Tulare Area Agency on Aging to provide holiday stockings and home visits to nearly 1500 isolated and homebound seniors in Tulare County, a number that has almost tripled because of the closure of local senior centers due to COVID-19. . Participants can help bring joy and share warmth with our homebound seniors by donating cold-weather items to fill the stockings; or folks might like to participate in delivering the goody-filled stockings to the seniors' homes.
