The Tulare County Child Welfare Services (CWS) programs serve vulnerable families and children. This program helps to maintain and stabilize the placement of children with their fostering families. Studies have shown that settling a foster child in a stable home minimizes child stress, emotional pain, and trauma, while decreasing attachment issues and emotional and behavior disorders. Academically, placement stability decreases school changes and increases academic achievement. Clearly, the more stability children have, the more likely it is that they will be able to develop enduring relationships with adults who care about them. This stability also enables children to establish a stronger and more varied network of social support to help meet all of their needs.
Donations to the CWS General Fund Program will help to purchase a multitude of much-needed items, such as clothing, personal hygiene items, duffle bags, back-to-school supplies, home safety items, therapy kits, birthday gifts, unforeseen needs, and emergency assistance as needed.
