WIC Program 0 to 5 Health Camp

The Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) Program provides access to nutritious foods, nutrition and health education, breastfeeding support, and referrals to community resources for local low-income families. WIC serves prenatal, postpartum, and breastfeeding women, infants, and children up to 5 years of age. To reach out further to this population, WIC coordinates the 0 to 5 Health Camp—a summer learning series for parents of children aged 0 to 5, living in low-income rental communities. Each session includes bailoterapia (dance therapy), health and safety workshops, and lunch. Donations are used for lunch and door prizes for the participants. Monetary and in-kind donations are welcome, i.e., first aid kits, baby-wearing wraps/slings, food storage containers, and insulated lunch bags.
