The Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) Program provides access to nutritious foods, nutrition and health education, breastfeeding support, and referrals to community resources for local low-income families. WIC serves prenatal, postpartum, and breastfeeding women, infants, and children up to 5 years of age.
To reach out further to this population, WIC coordinates the 0 to 5 Health Camp—a summer learning series for parents of children aged 0 to 5, living in low-income rental communities. Each session includes bailoterapia (dance therapy), health and safety workshops, and lunch.
Your donations to the WIC Health Camp are used for lunch and door prizes for the participants. In-kind donations are also welcome, such as first aid kits, baby-wearing wraps/slings, food storage containers, and insulated lunch bags.
