Tulare County Parks & Recreation Disc Golf

Tulare County Parks & Recreation maintains disc golf courses at Mooney Grove Park and the Kings River Nature Preserve and hosts two tournaments each year.

In October 2018 Tulare County Parks and Recreation hosted one of the largest Junior Disc Golf events in history at Mooney Grove Park. Participants from all over the United States from ages 3 to 18 played in the California Junior Disc Golf Championship.

Located on Road 28, two miles east of Highway 99, the Kings River Nature Preserve offers access to the Kings River and an 18-basket disc golf course. In October 2015, Kings River Disc Golf Course was the perfect setting for the CenCal Series Championship, which drew attendance from players around the Central Valley, the Central Coast, and the Monterey area.

Donations to the program are needed on many levels, from park upkeep to the iron baskets. If you haven't been to an event, don't miss out on watching disc golf during Labor Day weekend in Visalia with the End of the Trail Classic. This event draws a large number of professional players that compete on the 18-hole course that sprawls throughout Mooney Grove.
