Suicide Prevention Task Force (SPTF)

Comprising representatives from government, education, community-based service providers, and community members, the Suicide Prevention Task Force (SPTF) provides training, activities, and education throughout the community to increase awareness of the signs of suicide risk and promote the available prevention and early intervention resources in Tulare County.
SPTF envisions a county without suicide and aims to accomplish this by implementing a full range of strategies, starting from prevention and early intervention. Communities need prevention services to promote mental health and address problems long before they become acute to effectively reduce suicides and suicidal behavior. And, communities need a coordinated system of services to effectively respond to crisis situations, as well as a forum where the issue of suicide can be addressed.

SPTF holds numerous training events and support groups on an ongoing basis, as well as maintaining a crisis team that helps persons experiencing a loss to suicide. Your donations to the SPTF will help increase prevention and early intervention services, and help our community members better understand and recognize the signs and symptoms of suicide risk.
