Show a senior that you care by donating to the Stockings for Seniors drive! Your generous donations of warm clothing articles and the sharing of your personal time with the senior citizens will help keep them warm, uplift their spirits, and improve mental wellness as they anticipate the holiday celebrations. To the homebound seniors who often do not have friends or family visiting them during the holidays, your participation in the Stockings for Seniors drive can have a huge impact.
This holiday season, CSET Senior Services, Tulare County Adult Protective Services, and Public Guardian are partnering with the Kings/Tulare Area Agency on Aging to provide holiday stockings and home visits to nearly 500 isolated and homebound seniors in Tulare County. You can help them bring joy and share warmth with our homebound seniors by donating cold-weather items to fill the stockings; you might also like to participate in delivering the goody-filled stockings to the seniors' homes.
And—participating is easy! You can drop off a handmade or new, unused clothing item(s) (check out the list here for ideas) at any one of the collection sites. Financial contributions are also an option through Friends of Tulare County. You can opt for a payroll deduction (if you are a County employee); send a check to Friends of Tulare County (5957 S. Mooney Blvd., Visalia, CA 93277; write “Stockings for Senior Citizens” on the memo line); or donate through PayPal using the yellow Donate button below.
The Stockings for Senior Citizens drive ends December 2. Your donations will help ensure that homebound senior citizens are not forgotten this holiday season.
